In this special Advocates for Adult Children with Intellectual Disabilities (AACID) meeting the My Special Place board has some exciting updates and developments to share regarding their initiative to bring residential housing options to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in our community.  President Kristy Sullivan, and other Board members, will present specific details about the property under consideration, including its location, proposed housing models, services, and estimated costs.

We are also pleased to welcome guest speaker Cindy McClymonds, owner of At Your Service Professional Guardians. She will share insights and real-life stories highlighting the challenges families face when planning for the future care of their adult children or relatives with IDD – especially when those plans are delayed until they can no longer provide care themselves.

We will meet in the Defender Room.
